1. The elections
Man proposes, but God decides. So much efforts are being exerted in the elections. Money spent, volunteers campaigning, alliances made, press conferences attended, debates here and there. But the doctrine of Divine Providence states that it is God who dictates the outcome of the election; with God giving the nation the leader it deserves. A very bad, lousy leader if the nation deserves to be chastised, and a very good able leader if the nations deserves to be blessed.
And who deserves to be blessed? Those who obey the commands of God. The history of the Israelites is a perfect example of this; in that when they were obedient to God, they were blessed and won battles. When they were disobedient they were chastised and lost battles.
The impression the world has, that so much depends on human efforts to win an election is a Pelagian heresy that exist world wide today. Well, the Pelagian heresy is good for business as well as making the whole process of election exciting. So, I won’t spoil the fun; I’ll stop here and hold back explaining this doctrine and just watch everybody enjoy this coming elections both in the US and in the Philippines while wondering why all the activities when God, in fine, is the one who decides the outcome.
2. This point is raised because the same thing happens in the selection of a Pope. The cardinals do not select the Pope in a conclave. The Pope was never elected in a conclave in early times. Selection of a Pope was done by discernment of Divine Providence expressed by the existing Pope appointing the next Pope. Pope John Paul II, in fact appointed Joseph Ratzinger as Pope in his death bed, the usual way of choosing a Pope in early Christian times.
Here, the rule is the same. Cardinals do not elect the Pope. God appoints the Pope. And God choses a Pope that a Church deserves. If the Church is Faithful, God gives her a holy Pope. If the Church is unfaithful, God gives her a bad Pope or even an anti-Pope. And we have had 40 anti-popes just to show how many times the Church was unfaithful to God.
3. In what way does God chastises the Church when she is unfaithful aside from giving her a bad pope or an anti-pope? God allows the devils to assault the Church. God had also done this many times. He had allowed the devil to assault the Church almost once every one hundred years; though the Church had been unfaithful more often than that. History is the witness. And Pope Paul VI had, in fact, noticed that the devil had entered the Church; not to be its new spirit but to assault and destroy her from within.
God allowed the devil to assault the Church some time during the time of St. Benedict. The young boy Benedict had to leave theRome to become a hermit to save himself; not because of the assault of the devil but because of the corruption in the Church. The devil did not stop attacking St. Benedict, even using corrupt diocesan priests like Florentius who fell dead from a balcony for persecuting St. Benedict. Which makes us wonder who is worse, the devil or the diocesan parish priest. The devil cannot attack St. Benedict without God’s direct permission. A diocesan priest can.
4. Today, the devil is in the world, controls the world and owns the world. How did that happen? Because God is chastising the Church for her infidelity; i. e., due to her disobedience to the commands of God, like disobediences to the 6th and 9th commands, all the commands on ecumenism, and the command on capital punishment.
Catholics are disobeying the commands of God today as if they are possessed spiritually by he devil, like Judas. Is the devil so powerful that he can have Christ crucified and enter Judas in front of Christ?
Now, don’t get me wrong. This is not due to the power of the devil. This is because God is chastising the world for disobeying the commands of God. And what is happening is what St. Paul described as ‘deliverance to Satan.’ God is allowing Satan to do what he wants with the world, especially with the unfaithful Christians. But Satan is not chastising the world in obedience to God’s command, though his act is outwardly an act of obedience. His motive is because of his pride, envy and hatred towards men.
Every evil in the world is committed by the human co-horts of Satan, through through the insinuation of Satan …….but the sin is the result of an Act of Chastisement from God for the disobedience of men to the commands of God. From abortion to terrorism, from wars to acts of injustices, from drug addiction to adultery, from Tsunamis to global warming…….these are Acts of chastisement from God with Satan and the devils executing the chastisement after the very same devil had proposed and insinuated to men to disobey the commands of God. St. Thomas of Aquinas wrote; That God chastises men for his sin by allowing him to fall deeper into greater evil.
5. Whatever God does is to test man; so man can know if he loves God or not. God does not need this information. He knows if man loves Him or not. But man does not know that. So God tests him. If he loves God, he is blessed by God. If he does not love God he is chastised here on earth and damned in the next life. So through chastisement man should know if he loves God or not; and from where the blessing or the chastisement comes from. If there is a super typhoon that kills thousands in your locality that is a chastisement because you have sinned and have not repented. St. Alphonsus Liguori in his book ‘Chastisements’ wrote that these are God’s way of telling you that you have unrepentant sins and you are getting worse due to your lack of repentance. If you die now you go straight to hell.
Since everything is a test from God it is important that we know what is going on and pass the test. But the final test is an extraordinary scenario that needs deep knowledge and much graces.
6. The genesis of the chastisements experienced by the world today. And how God uses the devil to chastise the unfaithful.
It all begun in Paradise. Adam and Eve were endowed by God with a mind and will. They need both to pass all their test before they can merit eternal life in heaven. The test was; given the choice will they love God or creatures. And the devil was part of the test. By nature man was created good. But the devil entered the picture and suggested to man to chose loving himself rather than God. The devil only made a suggestion or recommendation. That is all that the devil can do. And Adam and Eve chose the devil’s recommendation rather than God’s explicit command.
That is like choosing the recommendation of Cardinal Kasper rather than obeying God’s explicit command forbidding divorce and remarrying. In the eyes of God, Adam and Eve clearly sinned and were so severely punished that the whole human race was included in the punishment. That is what is going to happen to all those who follow Cardinal Kasper’s resolution that was rejected by the majority of Bishops during the 2014 Synod. The whole genealogy of the families who disobey God to follow a sinful suggestion could be punished by God. Why not? God did it to the whole human race before.
Because Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God’s command, they opened themselves to committing more and more mortal sins. Fortunately Adam and Eve repented. But not the children; keeping in mind that the good one, Abel, was killed by the bad one, Cain, who continued existing. Let’s say Cain never repented. God will chastise him to remind him that he has not repented. To chastise him God will send him a devil to assault him and probably possess him.
Now, let’s pretend Cain enters the seminary and he has not yet repented. Then God will, further chastise him, by sending him the devil that will teach him the heresy of nominalism. Because he has not repented and continued in his sin, he becomes a heretic with his belief in the heresy of nominalism. Unrepentant in his sin God, further, chastises him and sends him another devil to chastise him by giving him AIDS.
If with Aids, Cain still continues to live a sinful life neglecting his repentance so God sends him another devil to chastise him as God did to Job. God gives Cain a lousy bishop as his superior. This bishop tolerates all the vices of Cain, so Cain progresses in vices rather than in virtues. This would further anger God. So God gives Cain the all-in-all chastisement He can imagine; He gives Cain an anti-pope whose every teachings are all heretical. Cain even is thrilled by this because now he can enjoy loving himself with a Pope tolerating his favourite vices.
Well, God never runs out of ideas. So, now, after God has run out of ideas on what the devil can do to chastise Cain, God now uses the good Angels. So God sends Tsunamis to Cain’s beach house, explodes all volcanoes besides Cain summer house, and turns up all global temperature wherever Cain goes. But still sees Cain pleasing himself rather than God. Then God goes for the jugular.
God hides all books and documents that teaches the way to save ones soul. He silences all good preachers that can teach Cain how to go to heaven. All the priest, bishops, Cardinals and Pope that Cain go around with knows only how to wash the feet of pagans and how to tear down walls.
By this time Cain should realise that there is absolutely no way by which he can go to heaven; especially he is still guilty of killing his brother Abel. Why, he will surely go to hell.
This is the situation of all Catholics today. And they are not even guilty of killing their brother. God is chastising the whole world, especially the Catholic Church and in such a situation even the guiltless Catholics are included in the Chastisement. How do we dissociate ourselves from the rest?
7. God is sending the world the greatest chastisement He can probably send that this has not even cross the mind of St. Alphonsus Liguori who wrote extensively on Chastisements. What have the Catholic Church done to call upon herself such calamity? She, in connivance with the whole world had committed the sin of Lucifer.
