PSALM 7 – The Deep Silence of God.

1. The Psalms
The 150 Psalms are the official obligatory prayer of the Catholic Church. It is supposed to be prayed by all priests and religious. And laymen are encouraged to pray portions of it, when possible.
All the 150 Psalms are ordinarily prayed in one week. Stricter order prayed the 150 Psalms in one day. The hermits can even go through them three times a day.

To pray the length of the 150 psalms is in obedience to the command of Christ ‘to pray unceasingly.’ To pray unceasingly is to pray the psalms divided into 8 Divine Offices a day; while praying shorter prayers, like ejaculations in between thus praying the whole day or unceasingly.  The obligation to pray the Divined Office for all officials in the Catholic Church is because the Divine Office is the official classroom of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Faith is not learned in classrooms. It is learned in the oratory while reciting the Divine Office.
During the Divine office Dogmas, Morals and Eschatology are learned.  That is practically the whole teachings of the Catholic Church. When prayed devoutly the deepest knowledge on theology can be learned just by reciting the Divine Office.
The crisis in the Catholic Church begun when the Church begun to lessen the prayers of the Church. The Church no longer pray 8 times a day. She does not pray the 150 Psalms anymore. She does not pray ejaculations in between Divine Office anymore. She does not pray unceasingly anymore. In short, the Church had disobeyed one of the most important commands of Christ; ‘to pray unceasingly.’ Without unceasingly prayer the soul of the Church dies.

2. See what we can learn from Psalm 7. And this is only one Psalm, entitled ‘the silence of God.’
The silence of God happens when the church becomes unfaithful or the individuals commit sin. God, the psalm states, goes away high over and above man’s ability to understand so that none of the unfaithful sinner can know or understand Him. This is what it seems to be happening today. Pope Francis, in his first speech entitled ‘Love without dogma,’ seems to be totally ignorant of the whole theological structure of the theological virtues which is the very foundation of the whole framework of the teachings of the Catholic Church. From then on, all the things that he had said and done go against the teachings of the Catholic Church preached by the apostles and the Fathers of the Church. The same seems to be the case with most of the bishops (not all, off course) many priests and almost all of the lay catholics. The Psalms says that during this time God will be silent. Why? Because of their sins, the new Testament people who would congregate around God after He had abandoned the Old Testament covenant will discover that God has gone high over and above their ability to know Him; i.e. during these days almost nobody will know God.
 3.  Psalm 7 describes the concept of sin.
It teaches us that sin is aversion from God;  and conversion towards creatures, which includes self-love. Self-love is to love oneself more than God. And this is a sin because we must love God above all things.
At the beginning man sinned like man. Today man will sin like Lucifer.  The sin of men today is like Lucifer’s;  Pride and rebellion from God.

4. The sin of Lucifer.
Lucifer’s sin begun with ‘groundless boasting.’  Lucifer was boasting for what? He had nothing to boast about because everything he had came from God. Nevertheless, he was boasting, probably on how beautiful he was, which was true. But that was a gift from God! He was probable boasting for being intelligent. But that was also from God. So Lucifer had nothing to boast about.
But his boasting was this. He believed that his beauty and intelligence were of his own doing. We are all doing that. We earn money and we believe we earn it rather than that was a gift of God. We are healthy and we think it is because of our staying for hours in the gym. Without knowing that health is a gift of God.
To claim for oneself what is in fact  gifts of God is ‘groundless boasting.’  Groundless boasting gives in to Pride. Pride sparks rebellion towards God.  And rebellion towards God makes man dominate others in the desire to be ‘like Gods….who as God really dominate the entire of creation.

5. Man who was made to the image and likeness of God,  because of the continuous bombardment of temptations from Lucifer, will end up in the year 2016  likened into the image and likeness of the devil. Like Lucifer man will engage in ‘groundless boasting.’ He will boast of anything and everything as if everything is a product of his own ingenuity and efforts.
This is the beginning of man’s pride. Then he proceeds to do his own will in complete disregard to the Will of God, just like Adam and Eve. This is the beginning of man’s rebellion against God due to his pride. He is not contented with doing his own will; he will imposed his often mistaken will on all those around him in imitation of God who does whatever He wishes. This is the sin of Lucifer; ‘he wanted to be like God. So man imposes his democracy on everyone, imposes his morality on everyone, and like Pope Francis, impose his new protestant religion which he called the church of mercy and compassion on everyone.
Today the original sin of Lucifer had become the common sin of man of the 20th century. Because of this innumerable sins of the men of the New Testament, God will become silent. Suddenly, man will know absolutely nothing about God. Thus most men will have no Faith. And this we should expect because Christ, Himself, expects it; ‘when the Son of man comes, will He find Faith here on earth.’

6. God shows His anger by separating some sinners away from Satan.
Though at first possessed by Satan,  some souls will be separated  away from Satan and made righteous by God. These men will be humble, the opposite of pride. They will not attribute anything on themselves.  They will glory on the fact that everything right and good in them comes from God alone. Thus they have nothing to fear when Christ suddenly comes on Judgment day. Because they have lived in the fear of God.

While the righteous will be protected by God and made perfect in holiness, the wicked will become more wicked and reach the heights of their wickedness. During this time the difference between the wicked and the righteous will be very pronounced. It will take very little to differentiate each one.

7. God will examine the mind, the heart and the inwards of each person.
God will first examine the mind to see what it contains; heavenly things or the things of the earth. What the mind contains will certainly go down the heart. If the mind is filled with worldly things, the same thing will fill the heart. And the inwards which contain the passions will compliment the worldly mind and heart.
But if the mind if filled with the things of heaven, then the heart will be filled with the same. And the disciplined control of the mind over the heart will prevent lustful passions to rule the inwards.

8. Judging each according to their merits God shoots them with an arrow.
The sinners are referred to by Psalm 7 as heretics. God’s arrow slays them. While the righteous are shot with the arrow of love wherein they shine with the said theological virtues.
And in doing so, the righteous are able to pray to God to be angry at the devil who have enslaved souls. God’s anger is able to make the devils release some souls prayed for by the righteous.

9. Psalm 7 predicts the weakening of the Church’s Faith. When this happens it is not the weakening of the Faith of the laymen. It is the weakening of the Faith of those who are supposed to lead; the priests, the bishops, the cardinals and even the Pope. Since it is impossible for the Pope to weaken in Faith because Christ, Himself, have promised to pray for the Pope that his Faith, precisely, does not weaken so he can confirmed the Church in Faith; then who will weaken? A pretender to the papacy. And the Book of the Apocalypse had hinted on this calling him the ‘false prophet’ who would be complimenting the great dragon, the anti-christ in trying to destroy the Catholic Church. And Pope Francis is one of the candidates.

10. How to pray the Psalm.
When Pope John Paul II demanded from all bishops to reform the curriculum of the seminaries, a proposal was made and was approved by the Bishops. This proposal was to teach the seminarians how to pray the Psalter. Though approved by the Bishops it was never implemented. Why? Because they could not find professors who teach such a subject.
When praying the Psalms we must first try to understand the Old Testament meaning of the verse since the Psalms are Old Testament prayers. Then while praying them, we must try to give the New Testament interpretation of the words. Then we should try to discover the eschatological picture it is presenting on how that prophetic verse will be fulfilled today, year 2016. If we pray this way, then one third of the lesson we can learn just from Psalm 7 is what have been just written above.  The two thirds will follow.
